Darn Quentin, just because I talked you up no need to go and prove yourself like that !

Yeah me too Indiana been talking Halys up for a while now. Was wanting Klein to overtake Ward this week and prove he is the better player. Don't think I ll have too much longer to wait though.

He's going to be very very good that Halys chap. Should beat Kruger in the quarters.

Gary at A1 is a mega Halys fan too.

Personally, I prefer Sascha Zverev (a year younger) - Halys has never really 'lit my fire' - which is not to say that he's not extremely good ....

Saw the second half of the first set and Brydan had a lot of break points - it was very even - Brydan's backhand let him down a bit, bit flat-footed at times too - it was a shame as Quentin was making quite a few unforced errors (as he often does, though compensates with some brilliant forehands)

Halys ranking is rising thus far on a similar trajectory to Kyle's ie he is on the cusp of hitting the top 200 as a teenager but leaving it tight.

I agree. Zeverev obviously a different league in terms of progression, but again I think part of it is a height thing (not that I know how tall Halys is) which makes that transition to elite seniors so much more rapid with the long levers making the court bigger particularly with the serve facilitating increasing power with maturation more rapidly as there is a greater margin for error. The shorter guys need to enhance their technique particularly when hitting flat shots and serves overhead.

Nick the Greek, KKK, Coric they are all very long

Oh, I think that Halys is a tall young guy - 6 ft 2 or 6 ft 3, I think.

In fact, sometimes the tall lads seem to take longer to transition I think - all gangly and need to get coordinated again (from their growth spurt).

But, yes, long is good !

I just find Halys rather an awkward mover, and all amazing forehand but not much else. In fact, i think he'll get better as he gets a bit more coordinated on his feet as he grows up.
