I saw Ed play several times as a older junior and in no way was he a terrible player, but there was nothing really of note about his game either.  As he is now aged 19 and playing regularly at this time of year, I am assuming he is trying to make his way as a pro player.  Whilst I obviously wish him well, to my mind he has a mountain to climb.  I believe he trains at a small club (and nothing wrong with that!) but I wonder what sort of advice he had access to regarding setting out on the tour.  IMO he would have been a prime candidate for one of the lower profile American universities.  If he's just a late developer, it would have allowed him to mature without spending a fortune competing and losing confidence.  If his potential is just not very high, well he'd have found that out too whilst also gaining an education and options for an alternative career.

Is Liam playing, I can't see the rationale if he is playing Mansfield Next week, getting over the jet lag and staying with or near Cam to get some practice in would make a lot of sense, presumably the TCU boys will be getting wildcards after the exploits of the last few weeks (and its on their autumn schedule)

Liam is on the itf draw as top seed unless he has withdrawn since the draw and drawsheet not updated.

Well done to Mr Bambridge. Fascinating score with the Tunisian for Mr Broady, especially in the absence of any further information (is this someone who doesn't travel outside Tunisia, so is underranked? young? old? playing a blinder?)

Or did Liam, looking overranked if viewed purely on performances of late, though we know he can and has played much better, play very poorly or maybe, not unlikely, a bit of a mixture ?

Suluoglu must be fairly useful as he beat James Marsalek a few months ago !

To be honest, I don't think there's anything particularly strange about Liam's score.

If you look at the lower events this week, Matt Short defeated a top 140 player, Ed Corrie lost to a guy ranked about 900, the second seed in Tunisia lost to a guy ranked 1000 places lower, the second seed in France very nearly lost to an unheard of 16 year-old ......

There's not a lot between a lot of these guys on one particular given day.
