IMO it is largely irrelevant at this point whoever is appointed. Better competition structure and lots of coaches coaching come first, so he then has numbers to work with. Interesting that Willis has just commented on the necessity of playing club tennis in France and Germany. Why do you think that is?

Press Release from LTA
"We are pleased today to be able to announce the appointment of a new 'performance' director, a Mr. Sacrifi Cial-Lamb.
Mr. Cial-Lamb was until very recently the 'performance' director of BHS Stores Limited, where he oversaw great efficiency savings, consolidating a disparate network of over 150 retail locations into a much more streamlined operation, of zero. He similarly managed to reduce the bloated workforce from over 8,000 to less than two (people that is, not thousand)!
We very much believe that Mr. Cial-Lamb will bring the same no nonsense approach to the LTA and increase 'performance'.
His first job will be to evaluate the 'performance' of the board members that have so astutely appointed him, and who could have him fired at any moment, and decide whether their remuneration should be increased. He will not be spending any time with coaches or players until this vital work is complete, or indeed, thereafter.
We welcome Mr. Cial-Lamb, and trust that he knows what's good for the LTA, and him.
Signed,
Rob Bing-Ublind, LTA Chair
