Seemed like a very up and down match with wild swings in momentum, but JJ had runs of 6 & 5 consecutive games which was enough to win.
Solid week for Heather, winning the matches she would be expected to which she hasn't done in the last few tournaments. She could do with at least one big week between now and the end of the season though.
I'll take a world in which we're disappointed when Ms Watson loses a close match to Jelena Jankovic and debate whether or not Ms Konta will have what it takes to beat Ms Azarenka.
A good week for both women already - though I, too, would like to see Ms Watson have a "spectacular" before season's end.

Ah pity for Heather, strangish match with the runs of games though I see rebel rebel said at one stage many of the games were going to deuce.
And congrats to our new GB number 1, Johanna. Great that she has achieved it through her own super form and results rather than any huge fall in rankings by Heather, indeed in a week when Heather had a couple of good wins and will be adding points.
Feeling a bit smug now about being th only one to predict Jo ousting Heather . Brydan should take care of Wardy in the men's within the next month or so too.

Don't be, I did as well and long may it continue. Nothing against Ms Watson who makes the best of what she's got.
