I'm not shocked, just so happy for her, that she is finally reaching her potential. I remember talking to one of her previous coaches, and talking about top 50 being the target ( that was 2 years ago ). However her current form is more of a top 20 player, which for me is still not a shock, but still better than I thought was achievable. Massive credit goes to Jo for making it possible.

And to her new team.
Absolutely, by the way Nigel Sears did mention that he had noticed that she had simplified that slightly ugly forehand technique, so you were spot on with that observation mentioned a while back.

Why is everyone so surprised about Jo's heroics? It's been in the making since pre-Wimbledon. She's got game.
Why is it weird that, even in the context of the last few weeks, people are pleasantly surprised that Jo (WR 66) beats the WR 2, having been two breaks and 5-1 down in the final set?

Well, Jo did play well pre Wimbledon.
But I for one am absolutely shocked by much of what has occurred for her since, but hey huge congratulations to anyone who saw much of this stuff coming. Hope you cleaned up at the bookies re results, rankings etc

It's a bit weird because she's been playing at a consistently high level - unabated. Ranking in such circumstances matter less. She's been playing with a lot of confidence and has been very - I would say - proactive.

Funnily enough, I had a few flutters with colleagues for a laugh (not really a gambling person) . Gave their money back
