I must admit that when I said that having Halep as your last 16 opponent was the 1 to 4 seed you just had to accept after initially drawing a 13 to 16 seed, I hadn't quite appreciated how much Halep's hard court record this year suggested that she was absolutely the one to avoid.

And yet .... Go Jo !

Even with Halep on the brink of winning, I'm watching this with a smile on my face because Jo is able to trade with the world number 2. She doesn't look out of place in that arena on that court with a world-class player like Simona.

And she's just pinched one of the breaks back *3-5
