The FQR in both the men's and women's qualifying is on Saturday so Evo has a day off.

Well well. If Kedders can get through that 1st round, he faces a match up with a certain David Goffin in R2. Given what we saw in the DC final, we have to consider this match tough, but also winnable.

I really must stop looking too far ahead.

If I've read the draw right potential for a Edmund Goffin rematch in R2. Interesting section with the Aus wildcards and the Leyton Hewitt, James Duckworth match up.

Of the 17 qualifier spots in the MD ( there will be a LL ) :

4 are against seeds ( Ferrer, Lopez, Monfils and Sock )

7 against non seeds ( Vesely, Andujar, Estrella Burgos, Krajicek, Haase, Kuznetsov and Gimeno-Traver )

6 against fellow qualifiers ( 3 Q v Q )

Of course, first got to qualify ...

As you say Indy the small matter of qualifying first, but a decent set of potential match-ups there. Any of the seeds would be tough (especially Ferrer) of course but even so I'd fancy an Evo on form to give most of those a decent match at least. Goes without saying a QvQ slot would do nicely. Just hope Evo can produce the goods against Fratangelo tomorrow

There are definitely some opportunities there for qualifiers to make R2 even 3 with a bit of luck. Fratangelo wobbled mightly against Kyle in the Binghampton challenger against Kyle here's hoping he turns to Gelo against Evo. Bring it on!!
