Poor M Gasquet. French media are reporting that his car was stolen and he did his back in (I don't think the two are related) in the past week. Not a great way to celebrate the holidays. Hope he feels better. But, yes, I am glad that it is Mr Edmund who benefits!

As well as Kyle moving to the MD, Bachinger is also out of qualifying so Liam is up to 26th qualifying draw alternate at the very least.

That does look a huge long shot with his only possible chance if it got much closer and he was available to replace any last minute withdrawals.

Cheers, it was rather the supposed lateness of the draw that I found very strange, so was just questioning that.

I have seen elsewhere that qualifying starts on Wednesday, just as last year.
