Dodig has now passed Kyle, pushing him back to WR 101
The Sela vs Vanni QF in Andria has been posponed until today due to 'indoor rain' ie. a roof leak. If Sela wins he moves ahead of Kyle, whereas if Vanni wins he would go level on points with Kyle, still I think behind on tiebreak.
Albot though is out of the Sao Paulo Challenger finals.
So it is now indeed WR 103 at worst for Kyle, that is WR 101 plus Sela / Vanni and Bemelmans ( rather more unlikely and of course if he did play a live 5th rubber it could be vs Kyle ).

I think we can say well done, Kyle , on making the Aussie Open MD.
Ultimately he has just dropped 2 places this week to WR 102, being passed by Dodig and Sela.
With no challengers or above before the 07/12 rankings next week that matter, no points for Kyle to drop and, as Jeff Stelling said, no sign of the at least 3 relevant PRs that could drop him out of the top 104, that Buenos Aires Challenger title clinched the deal.
We will have :
MD : Andy, Aljaz, Kyle
Q : James, Brydan, Dan E
Decent looking group that, time maybe to see what we can do in the Davis Cup. It's been hours, but I won't stop dreaming
Oh dear. Thanks, wolf, for that information. I think I have misinterpreted an earlier post into thinking that PRs were very unlikely to be an issue.
Kyle will be very unlucky if he is WR 102 on Monday week and that ends up not being enough, well unlucky if like me you see him as better off in the MD here, as I did for the US Open, rather than the arguable beneficial experience of qualifiers at this stage in his career.
Sorry, people, for saying it was a done deal I guess it's a waiting game now.
He'll be fine. Odds of all 105 players (including PRs) all being fit are incredibly slim. The likes of Del Potro and Tipsarevic will probably pull out closer to the time anyway.

Yeah I'm not all that concerned really, as we've seen with Laura the return from injury is rarely smooth - though I do feel a bit bad for hoping that's the case for Kyle's sake!
Yes, last direct entry from the current rankings is WR 99 Thiemo de Bakker with all the top 99 showing.
5 PR entries : PR 25 Tommy Haas PR 39 Julian Benneteau PR 39 Janko Tipsarevic PR 56 Brian Baker ( no activity showing since US Open 2013 ) PR 89 Dmitry Tursunov
( no Del Potro, no Stepanek )
First 3 alternates : WR 100 Dudi Sela WR 101 Filip Krajinovic WR 102 Kyle Edmund

Hard to begrudge any of those PRs their day in the (blazing hot) sun ... though to be honest, given Tursunov's record in the three or four singles matches he played at the end of this year, one does rather tend to think Mr Edmund might make better use of the opportunity.
The qualifying entry list came out yesterday ( on menstennisforums.com )
Kyle at WR 102 is the highest ranked player. No sign of Filip Krajinovic WR 101 who was 1st alternate on the main draw list ( once Dudi Sela replaced Juan Monaco ) so hopefully Krajinovic is into the main draw ( or withdrawn ), but I can't find any confirmation of this.
Qualifying draw list :
Kyle : WR 102 James : WR 156 Dan E : WR 186 Brydan : WR 187
Alternates :
Liam : WR 300 - 28th alternate, 1st alternate being WR 253 ) Josh M : WR 355 - 50th alternate Dave : WR 521 - 77th alternate

Thanasi Kokkinakis has pulled out, Kyle is now one withdrawal away from the MD?

Yes, at most. Presumably Kokkinakis had intimated his withdrawal prior to the qualifying draw coming out so Krajinovic then already the second alt be upgraded.
