In all honesty, I didn't think Naomi was that good today. Somehow managed to bunch her points together in return games; quite an achievement given her struggles getting returns in play. Mestach either held to 15 or got broken. Served well to save 5 bps but a lot of her weaknesses were on display today. First ground-stroke after her serve was patchy with some awful errors. Mestach made a horrible mess of Naomi's final service game which didn't feature a single first serve.

Naomi Broady continues her good form from last week and the positive is that I think she played okay nothing great but still got the win. There is still room for quite a lot of improvement in her game, her return of serve and movement need to get a lot better.
I think the former might be an easier thing to tackle but that would certainly give her a better chance against higher ranked opponents.
Yes, Mestach was pretty disappointing, but as Barry Davies would say "who cares" about Mestach ( OK a few Belgians might ! )
Naomi's in the SF, and of course there is much room for improvement ( it's almost a cliche with Naomi ). Various areas have long been clear and are not going to magically hugely transform that quickly. But if not today as much as some other times I see improvements beyond the generally much more consistent serve weapon. Great progress

I don't know much about Amra Sadikovic. Apparently she was out for a year, returning in June. Her form since her return has been far more impressive than Laura's. Been playing on the clay until this week. Given she's qualified and beaten Gibbs and now Paszek, she must be playing well.
When I watched Naomi play last week on the TV I was staggered at how much she had improved since I saw her play last. Whisper this quietly, but I think she has a real shot at getting into the top 100, Fitzy's doing a great job.

I'm guessing not an issue Liam has ever encountered
