A few weeks ago when del Potro came back, he was quoted as saying "Against Top 30 players, you cant keep hitting slice backhands." That's always my fear with Mr Evans - I know his is good and can be very effective, but I hope that he can change things up a bit ... and win, whatever he does.

He's playing well, isn't he. You wouldn't guess the gap in rankings. And at the very least, he's keeping Nishikori on court long enough to make a Nishikori substitution in doubles less likely.
Speaking of long matches, the opening rubber of the Swiss/Italian match-up is bidding fair to be one of the longest in DC history, looks like. 4:11 and counting.

Not long enough for that one yet, it needs to get to 6 hours before it gets to "one of the" longest DC matches, and 7 hours 2 mins before it gets the longest DC match ever.
Well done, Mr Evans. Very fine work against a top player. And a beautiful job for the team - Nishikori will not have wanted to be on court for almost 2 and three quarters hours.
