Far be it from me to wish ill of Andy, but there is a part of me that would love to see Dan win this in a deciding rubber in front of his home crowd.

Me too. I'm torn between wanting Andy to win (albeit in five), and wanting to see Evo in a live rubber - which obviously I would want him to win.

To my shame I find that I'm rooting for Nishikori right now. I at least want the tennis to go on longer.

I turned it on at 4-0 in the 'breaker and Murray's not won a point since. Swell.

Somehow turns it round from 5-6 down to steal it 8-6. Two sets to the good.

Yay, and if Andy wins in straight sets they have to play the dead fifth rubber.

If he wins in four or five they can call it off ( presumably on the basis that a four or five sets match is decent enough for the crowd ).

Meantime, Djokovic is two sets to one down to Kukushkin in his must win match ( Serbia are 2-1 down ).

He leads on serve 2-1* in the fourth.

Two sets all in Belgrade.

I rather suspect Sebia vs Kazakhstan will be going to a fifth and deciding rubber. Brave forecast

When was the last time Murray lost from two sets up? Looking like a very good chance of happening here.

A very long time ago, but I still doubt that it will happen today. Andy has a habit of finding a way.

I'm not convinced. He's been outplayed for the best part of the last two hours.

At least it's not Djokovic in a fifth set. Novak closes out rubber 4 for Serbia 6-2 in the fifth.

Serbia 2 Kazakhstan 2

Apparently from what I can see even longer than I thought, seemingly the one and only time being that first five setter he played vs Nalbandian in the Wimbledon L32 in 2005.

I kind of thought that Djokovic and / or Nadal had done it to him, but no.

I believe, prior to today :

25 Andy matches gone to 5 sets. 18 won ( including 8 from two sets down ), 7 lost ( including 1 from 2 sets up ).
