An idea from left field:

Probably tens of thousands of people would travel to watch the DC final if tickets, money and time were not an issue.  But the stadium is small, few tickets are available and it would be an expensive weekend.  Why not take a leaf from the Rugby World Cup book and have a spectator zone at the NTC in Roehampton?    They already have covered courts - the "dutch barn" roof over the clay courts is ideal!  All they would have to do is  get a big screen and sound system in and set up a (free?!) bar!

That's inspired !

At least the price is OK, good luck !!

Great idea about setting up some sort of spectator zone, there was talk about setting up one in Gent itself, for all those peeps, who have only a one day ticket. It's been very quiet on that front since it was 1st suggested. Also hotel availability for Saturday is now VERY limited, basically zip. I still have a full week's worth of hotel's booked, but am likely to cancel them shortly.

I would steer clear of that site I must admit. If it seems too good to be true it most probably is...

You could send a message to Tennis Flanders asking whether it's genuine as there's a link to their website.

I'm pretty sure it isnt fake as have received e-mail confirmation from tickets@ticketmatic.com which was the ticket partner used for the belgian sale.

Looking at www.andymurrayfanforum.com/forums/showthread.php

The theory is these are returned tickets from clubs that didnt take their full allocation.

Yeah from my initial 50/50 doubts (after I had paid 250!) I'm maybe 90% that they are genuine. I think the Belgian's plan of keeping the majority of tickets has backfired from lower demand than expected and now a lot of UK fans are purchasing. Albeit no communication about this extra round of ticket sales from the Belgian Federation, the Ticketmatic website, the Davis Cup website...is very very poor. P155 up and Brewery springs to mind.

Ward has withdrawn from the Montivedeo challenger next week so I really don't see any justification for picking him ahead of Kyle.

I agree with you that Kyle is now ahead in the DC stakes but as I have said previously, I thought playing Montevideo was not a good idea.  If either of them had reached the final, they would not get to Belgium until the Tuesday and with jetlag etc, it would possibly be Thursday (the day before the match starts) before they would be able to start training properly.

Personally, I think Kyle will withdraw as well from Montevideo and they will all head back.  He has had some good match practice this week, so time to go home and prepare.

I can see the case either way but personally I think competitive matches in Montevideo are better preparation than anything Kyle could be doing in Belgium.
