OK, two sets to one.

Sit down, regroup and then come out with a good first service game to get your nose in front. The pressure is still huge on Goffin.

Big *15-30 point that in an important first game of the set Open court to get to *15-40 and so tight from Goffin.

1-0*

It all seems to be getting away from him now.

Well Kyle not playing as well now, but it's a belgium banker, so I'm not too worried. At the very least goffin's going to be taken to five and at best we've got a free rubber.
I would love Kyle to play wa well as he was earlier though. It's a darn shame.

Only a few points in which both have played well at the same time. In each set, one player has performed well while the other has tended to be awful.

What happened to him? Went from playing very well to all over the shop. Absolute thrashing in the last three sets.

Any deciding fifth runner will also be the best of five, I would certainly imagine a consideration in selection

At least Bob in Belgium will have a certain live match on Sunday assuming Andy makes it 1-1 next smile

And yes Wardy may be back in the frame as a proven stalwart over 5 sets

Brilliant first 2 sets for Kyle to treasure, but no cigar cry

Really hope that Mr Murray can win quickly and get off the court uninjured and fresh.

Mr Edmund did better than I thought he would - pity about the end, but for a DC debut, not bad. Next time ...

Don't forget Kyle won a 5 setter on clay in Paris, so i'm not sure it is about stamina.

Tough call for Leon, if it goes to a 5th - lets just hope it doesn't and it shouldn't...

taken from the BBC live feed:

John Lloyd

Former Davis Cup finalist on BBC Two

"Kyle definitely has a shot of reaching the top 50. He has a couple of big weapons in the serve and backhand."

Backhand? Don't you mean forehand.......

A rather disappointing end to the match. I think we saw the best and worst of Kyle with some stunning play in the first two sets and a complete change in body language and game over the next 3 sets. Although Goffin upped his level Kyle also became very error prone.

Maybe the pressure of seeing the winning line got to him. In terms of a possible fifth rubber although I was thinking Kyle would be best I'm beginning to think that there would simply be too much pressure on him.

Its a hard decision if it comes to this because its clear that Kyle has the game if he can reproduce that over a whole match, where as Ward has won a deciding rubber in the past.
