Gee, the first game felt like a match in itself.

We're winning

Goodness. And that was just the first game. Well done to Mr Edmund.

Go, Jonathan Overend, as he lists some of the lows of his co-commentator's captaincy

Edit : ah, not sure JL has arrived at that point.

*2-0

First set in the bag. I am a complete jelly right now. But that was an outstanding set of tennis from Kyle.

Brilliant first set from Kyle, firstly to get off to such an outstanding start and secondly to close the set out when it was getting tighter.

Even if Kyle loses this match I don't understand the logic in not playing him if it went to a deciding rubber. Surely he'd have a very good chance against the Belgium no 2. Given the form he's shown so far he'd have a much better chance than James Ward.

Hopefully it won't come to that 5th match because I don't think my nerves could take it!

Leon may be changing his mind?? Why wouldn't you play Kyle if he can play like this, and he has shown virtually no signs of nerves so far.

Anyway why are we discussing the 5th rubber, lets be optimistic it could all be over tomorrow.

6-1 to Kyle in the Second.

Surely, once starting with Kyle, James was always just there as an option, quite largely depending on how Kyle reacted and played in this first match.

At the moment it doesn't look at all likely that that option will be used in the increasingly unlikely event we ever get to the 2-2 point.

Anyway, it may not even get to a third day ( perhaps not the day to win the ballot for ! )

6-3 6-1
