Its going to be A Murray, J Murray, Edmund, Ward.

Unlucky for Dom but hardly a surprise.

 Not a big surprise.

The big question is who will play 2nd singles. Will he give each one match and if so which way round?

I can't imagine have one each will be remotely in the plans. Surely make a decision on the best man for the occasion, play him on Friday with the initial intention to play him on Sunday too ( if it matters ). Apart from anything else playing Friday should help for that possible Sunday vital rubber.

Now, of course, how Friday goes may change that thinking, particularly if it is a pretty close call anyway.

Well I thought it was a close call, so not unhappy, it does potentially keep one of our singles guys fresh and Belgium can't plan 100% for the 2nd singles because we could change it around.

I think he will start with Kyle.

If he struggles to cope with the atmosphere on his debut or struggles he will throw James in for the Sunday. Anyway I expect it to be over by then.

I believe the centre court roof closes completely.  But whether Andy has played on it when it is closed is a different question.

Thanks, Bob - the match I mentioned in my original post was definitely played under the roof - see http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/tennis/andymurray/7720517/Andy-Murray-breezes-past-Victor-Hanescu-to-reach-Madrid-Open-quarter-finals.html, which was written at the time.

Guess it would help if I read the WHOLE post before diving into my research LOL.

LOL it would help if I'd read the article about the match following his win over Hanescu in 2010 more thoroughly too - it turns out that was played under the roof as well.

Thanks. Just found that on the BBC site.

The worst part is, I have just discovered that I could go for the weekend matches as there is an early morning flight direct to Alicante on Monday, but of course tickets are now sold out.

The Times is being very generous with its coverage of the final this week.  today's selection includes an article about Leon under the heading "I feared I was not up to the job", a description of how the paper reported the last win in 1933 & a profile of Kyle in a kind of Q&A format.  It examines such matters as his character/temperament, his relationship with Andy &, interestingly, given the speculation over the existence of a girlfriend on the Montevideo thread, the paragraph below the question "Is he dedicated to his sport?" contains the following comment:

[...] he does not have a hectic social life because he believes it would take a toll on his tennis.  Travelling as much as he does, there is no time for a girlfriend, but he once admitted:  "I have been told they are trouble".

Any chance you could just copy and paste it all for the benefit of us peasants?

Do you mean flight tickets or match tickets?

If it's match tickets, there are a few people on AMFF who can't go now and have tickets to sell. I don't know how practical it would be, but if that's the issue it might be worth a try.

It is entrance tickets.  I am trying to contact Sally Daisy via SMS and DM on Twitter.

'Fraid not:  I no longer have a subscription, buying the print edition & The Sunday Times as & when I want them, so I'm foiled by the paywall as much as any other non-subscriber & would have to type it all out to post it on here.  Sorry!
