Being seeded (I think for the first time at WTA level) means a better draw than of late, but they are in the Mirza/Hingis quarter.

Oh man, very nearly made a bit of a horlix of that. Broken to 30 at 5-3 then had 0-40 at 5-4*, eventually winning it on deuce.

First set to the girls, 6-4

5 breaks to 3 to Joss and Anna so far- i'm guess they will need to be more secure on serve in the next round if they want a shot at the world no.1 pair in the semi final

The girls are 4-1 up

Yes, now only a net 12 points to defend for the rest of the year, a 60 point October counter minus their best non counter of 48. They will for now have all their 11 counters at 60 or more, 60 being WTA International QF points.

They were 2-0 up in the 2nd but I think they've lost the last 5 games.

 

Held their next serve but lost  3 - 6 in the second.  Shame.  It looked very very sweaty there though !!!
