RE: Week 38 - Sweden F4 ($15,000) - Falun (Hard-indoor)

Yet again, James seems to have snuck the first set, 7-5

He did a bit more than just sneak the 2nd set buy handing out a bagel smile

James wins 7-5 6-0

Ed on shortly.

It would be nice to see the two ymer brothers as the swede davis cup team in years to come

Nice for Sweden. Maybe less so for others. I think the elder Ymer is already on the team.

A very nice win for James and deserved one based on what I saw. While I think his potential is limited I certainly see it as possible for him to get somewhere round the top 250 and maybe a bit higher. He has been unfortunate that several times over the last 2 or 3 years he has looked like he was on a decent run only to pick up an injury which has set him back and has often taken a long time to regain his form when he has returned. He also strikes me as a player who lacks real self belief, he is a gutsy fighter when behind but never looks comfortable when leading a match.

As for Ed, he never quite made the breakthrough at challenger level and doesn't look like he has recovered from that disappointment.

Congrats to James on his SF place.

That's his second highest counter over the last 12 months, and his highest over the last 10 months.

Will also be a rise of about 50 places in the ATP rankings. (The ranking in the singles post above is the old one - he's currently WR 686, not 676, but should go up to mid thirties or so, I think. Equally, Ed is WR 318 this week, down from 290).

Unfortunately Marzi couldn't serve out and it is back to 5-5, but he has break points again.
