RE: Week 37 - Challenger ($50,000) Cary, USA (Hard)

I seem to recall that cut-off used to be quite good - but that help from AO with travel costs (a good thing!) has made it harder, as more players are willing to chance it.

Grand Slam qualies deadline is three weeks before qualifying starts, four weeks before main draw.

Thanks, so I'll take it that the rankings 4 weeks before the main draw, i.e. Monday 21st December apply for qualifying ( and 7th December for the main draw )

Our 3 boys on court now. I actually fancy all 3 to get the win today. Josh has a tough test but I'm backing him to nick this one

2 of them Cox (8-6) and Milton (7-4) lose them! cry How's Brydan doing?

Josh playing quite nicely but volleying poorly from bit I saw.

Josh holds for 1-1 in 2nd set having been taken to deuce.

Also noticed that they have number of line judges that I would expect to see at a futures event, ie one on service line and one on sideline with umpire making all other calls, is there not minimum standard of how many you can have in a challenger? I have never seen this few at a Challenger event.

Josh gets first break point of the match in the third game of second set but Krajicek holds on.

Josh broken to 15. :(

At 0-15 he netted a routine volley, and then seemed unhappy at something, not sure if it was movement by the line judge who was moving from having been on the centre service line to becoming the outside line judge (see earlier post) there are hardly any line judges here) or what, but seemed very unhappy with it.

AK then put away a smash and following an ace at 0-40, a shanked forehand at 15-40 gave AK the game.
