Phew! Got lucky with Alla chucking in two doubles at 2-5* in the breaker but very chuffed she took her opportunity

That was one ugly tiebreak. Back to back dfs when 5-2 up in a tiebreak is pretty bad; thankfully it was Kudryavtseva imploding. Naomi played one super point to save set point, finishing with a volley into the open space.

Well done Naomi - didn't ever think she was going to win the second set. She's starting to pick up a few WTA main draw wins now which is always good news.

If Kudryavtseva was British, we would be slating her for her performance right now though, it was a pretty poor effort from her mentally to have lost that set when she was n complete control.
