Aegon national finals clash with Roehampton futures

I have the dilemma that if Marcus and Neil have good runs this week at roehampton my A1 team could be decimated by the time of our first Aegon finals match on Friday 4/9 . In their wisdom the LTA have decided to clash the Aegon team finals ( top 8 men & ladies teams ) with the Roehampton futures  evileyedisbelief .

I guess that sums it up no one is really interested in British national club league which makes it all the more baffling why players bust a gut to go to France & Germany

A1, this problem occurs all the time in Europe. Our number 1s (at open level) would tank (if they had to) their futures matches on a Friday or Saturday to get back to Germany in time.

The answer? Open your wallet.

I really don't know much about Aegon tennis but presumably, though, you've had semi-finals/quarters/pool matches etc. And you say that this is the 'first Aegons final match'. So there are more?

What I mean is, with British weather, it's difficult for the LTA to schedule ALL the aegon team matches to not coincide with ANY of the Futures events. Something sometimes has to give.

Had group stage already it's the last 8 men's & ladies teams of 5000 in Aegon team tennis

our no3 alone costs 50% more than total prize money if win the title now that they have clashed the tournament with a GB futures & cut prize money by 75% just made it very difficult

Gary - scheduling does seem a bit strange. Even the British tour event at Sutton was scheduled to split the ITF ladies event. With 3 matches, you would have expected it to be played over the bank holiday weekend.

Do you have a ladies team?

I think they have scheduled around it.

Doubles final is Thursday and Singles final Friday.

Yes, I'd been thinking that Roehampton seemed very far advanced, as if they were heading for a Friday finish and possibly ( and apparently so ) Thursday for the doubles.

I hadn't thought about the Aegon national finals. That presumably just really leaves an issue regarding any Roehampton singles finalists.

And Evo has helped free up Marcus for Friday. Neil's doubles final is indeed also today.
