Another quiet week and Dan C and Marcus hedging their bets. The girls no doubt will change as they rarely use their first preference. Laura Robson has entered using her ranking and is a long way down the alts list, but I would expect she may squeak into qualifying

Laura Robson has qualified by right for qualifying in Monterrey and IMHO this should be the path to go until she is comfortably winning regularly at 25K level. Then she can use her protected ranking to get into WTA events

As far as I can see - PR's can be used for 2 x GS and a max of 8 times within 1 year of returning to competition from that date

There is a whole section of rules in the WTA rulebook page 233 onewards

Lisa Whybourn still has her PR (or Special ranking as WTA call it), but it expires on 28th Jan 2016. Her PR is 281 which will not be enough for Aussie Open qualifiers, so she might as well use them whist she still has them.

Would really like to see Heather apply for a WC to Quebec. With so many early exits before and after Wimbledon she seems to have hardly played for the last 3 months and another extended break right now can't possibly help whilst a potentially weak field in Quebec might allow her to notch a few wins and get some mojo back.

I'm a little concerned Liam might have picked up an injury. Or hopefully just taking time off to recharge the batteries.

Hev does seem to have quite a light schedule considering she's not an elite player. I think she's got a 4 week stint in Asia coming up.

I wouldn't be surprised if he is hitting with the DC squad

Billy has withdrawn from France (he's played a lot of tennis this summer .....)

And Evan, I think, is out too.

Also, no Scott Duncan (probably due to the injury that caused him to retire).

Evan tweeted a couple of days ago that he was off to Wales for a three week training block with his new coach/academy
