The Milton- Halys match could be a marathon if opening salvoes are anything to go by, 42 points in the first three games, break points in every game. By my reckoning (which may well be dodgy) that's 12 deuces already.
After all of which Halys leads 2-1 on serve.
I would imagine that this title will launch Joe past his July CH of WR 291 to probably GB number 12 ( Dave is currently number 10 with the apparently retired Sean Thornley at number 11 ).
Evo seems to have found his groove, his performances through the summer have been consistently good and some spectacular (Dabiel in Vancouver), he is now performing at his CH level although fitter.
I know DC selection is pie in the sky but it would be hard to pick a winner from a play off between Wardy, aljaz, Kyle and Evo at the moment. Who would have thought that in May!

I still tend to think that it's rather more unlikely than likely, but why do you say that Davis Cup selection is "pie in the sky" given that Leon always strikes me as a guy who just primarly wants the WIN, that he has once before gone with his gut feeling and picked Evo and that came off, and your own thoughts on how he probably currently compares with the others.

Aliaj is the most consistent at the apex of his career, will he break into the worlds top 40, unlikely.
Kyle has a genuine weapon or two that will take him deep into the top 50, but I cant see a massive jump anytime soon it will be incremental growth.
James is not in great form and it would be an achievement girl him to work his way back into the world top 80-100 and stay there
Evo is in great form and probably would be the form pick, he has some way to go to convert that form into a rank, I see him playing at top 80-100 level, if he had been in the position to gain entry I think he would have managed to negotiate open qualifying possibly doing damage in the main draw.
Aljaz I think would beat all 3
Wardy can't beat an egg at the moment
Kyle v Evo too close to call, but if they played this week I would take Evo
I think Leon will pick ... I hope he has the strength to pick Kyle... but my gut says James.
Maybe I misunderstood you, Oakland, but I was taking it by your "pie in the sky" comment that you saw absolutely no chance of Evo being selected for the upcoming Davis Cup tie.
I agree with the point that Leon is a definite fan of Dan's and knows his massive potential. I'm confident he will have been keeping a close eye on Dan's current form and (I'd hope) watched his matches in Vancouver on the stream (hopefully seen the fight against Daniel!)
Wasn't it the case that Leon tried to take Dan under his wing around the time he was finding success with DC/US open. Not sure what happened with that...
I really wouldn't be surprised if Evans was picked for the next tie and if not, at least included if Leon thinks it isn't getting in the way of Dan's schedule. In my opinion Dan has the game to beat players like Tomic (He already has - which is a huge incentive to pick him!!) and definitely would frustrate the likes of Groth and Kygrios/Kokkinakis with his style of play
I agree with a lot of sentiments above in supporting Dan FTW this afternoon. Obviously. But I also agree that I think the sooner he pushes on to Challengers and leaves the Futures circuit behind, the better. We know that Evo seems to enjoy a challenge more than the Futures grind, and his current form suggests he could not only make an impact, but also go on to win some of the Challies. It also leaves space for the lower-ranked Brits to push on at Futures level, without Evo dominating the field at British Futures, which he seems to have done almost worryingly easily this summer.
