Superb tournament for Jo. Really proves to herself just what she can achieve. No reason why she can't continue this form and go even higher in the rankings and do some damage in main tour events. It's been a real highlight and a another big boost for British tennis.

Totally agree.
She's a totally different (and new) person so time will tell whether she can take this as a stepping stone to new and better things. I have no evidence that she's a Robbo/Wardy and only functions well in big arenas. Her Ws coming up to the USO were in $100ks. She's down for Guanzhou next, the week after DC, but who knows she might try for Seoul with her new ranking if entry criteria allow. Hev's there.
I'm just very exited for her and British women's tennis. the thought of the three of our girls fighting it out at around WR20 is fantastic.
But just shows how quickly things can turn around in tennis. Vinci has been in a slump for about 18 months now and has dropped reasonably dramatically in the rankings. This run alone takes her back up towards where she was.
It's interesting that all the fuss around the top half of the draw has obscured the fact that the bottom half is likely to have quite a spectacular SF: Kvitova, Azarenka and Halep all still in.
An excerpt from the BBC about Johanna's upcoming schedule now - which, one presumes, must have been rather often, and substantially, revised over the last month! [...] The 24-year-old now plans to return home to Eastbourne before resuming training and then heading to Wuhan and Beijing in China, as the tennis circuit moves on to the 'Asian swing'. "I'm not blown away by my performance here," said Konta. "I'm just satisfied that I get a little bit of candy for doing well. "I'm just really looking forward to heading already to my next tournament. "Obviously I need to take a little bit of a break now, just a couple days' rest, but I'm looking forward to the next plane I'm on to head to Asia.
