Not much success to report. Ewan earns the chance to avenge his comprehensive defeat by the Italian qualifier last week, but Ema was unable to repeat last week's good run.

(WC) Csenge Furak (HUN) d. (7) Ema Lazic 6-1 6-2
Valeria Gorlats (EST) d. Anastasia Mikheeva 6-3 6-0
Monica Cappelletti (ITA) v Francesca Jones
Andreea Amalia Rosca (ROU) d. Georgina Axon 6-3 6-3

Ewan got much closer than last week but couldn't get the win, so it's a disappointing tournament in singles at least

Girls R1 (L32)

Monica Cappelletti (ITA) d. Francesca Jones 6-1 2-6 6-4

R2

Lea Boskovic (CRO) d. Jodie Anna Burrage 6-1 6-4

I see that the year 2000 young guns Ali Collins and Francesca Jones have recently been really pushing their levels. Interesting.

Given that it's a G2, doubles give relatively high points.

In the boys, into the quarters are:

R1:Constantin BITTOUN KOUZMINE (FRA) / Maxime TRENIKHIN (GBR) def. Bence TAMAS (HUN) / Oliver VARGA-TOTH (HUN) 6-4 7-6(0)

R1:Charles BROOM (GBR) / Ewan MOORE (GBR) def. Pavel KOTOV (RUS) / Alexander OVCHAROV (RUS) [2] 2-6 6-3 [10-3]

Very nice victory over the second seeds by Charles and Ewan.

And worth noting Maxime Trenikhin because (a) it's a memorable name, (b) it's his first ever ITF points, and (c) he very cleverly, as a completely unranked player, managed to team up with the JWR 173 French junior, age 16, with a Junior CH 114 - always good to choose the right partner

In the largely GB tussle in the girls,

R1: Jodie Anna BURRAGE (GBR) / Panna UDVARDY (HUN) [4] def. Georgina AXON (GBR) / Ema LAZIC (GBR) 6-4 3-6 [10-8]
