Tristan is a very likeable youngster but blows hot and cold - good on Brydan for keeping it tight and not giving him a chance.
As for the main draw, I think James Ward has a reasonable draw, given it's a Grand Slam. Belucci has never, ever been beyond the 2nd round of the US OPen (nor the Australian Open, a similar surface). Roland Garros is the only Grand Slam where he's posted any reasonable results.
Bedene's isn't great but, as said before, could be anything - no idea.
But Andy's is horrible - if you had to pick one the worst unseeded player to come up against in round 1, Nick K would be right up there at the top (or near).
Mind you, fourth seed Nishikori has Benoit Paire, hardly a gift. And Nadal has Coric.... interesting.
I'm not really at all one for conspiracy theories regarding pro tennis draws.
The one that has sort of interested me and that there has been a fair bit written about is the consistently skoosh draws the top seeds get at the US Open.
This is no sort of time to even it up a bit.
Nick may at times be a proverbial pain in the neck, but he's a damned good tennis player when his mind's on the job.
Personally I think it's Nick the Greek whose got the bad draw! Andy is in cracking form, there is no element of surprise and I can't see the locals warming to the under dog on this occasion, there's been too much dog recently.
james ward is probably pretty happy.
Brydan very pleased for him, puts into perspective the type of form Evo is in.
