Better serving performance this time with 11 aces, broken twice. Surprisingly low 67% won behind first serve but an impressive 62% won on 2nd serve. Ying-Ying Duan's first serve percentage was much improved in the 2nd set and she had marginally better chances up until the tiebreak which was all Naomi.

Will need to serve well to have a chance against Anett Kontaveit who beat Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor 7-6(4) 6-2 in a match full of breaks of serve.

Tremendous to have 4 of our 5 entrants get through two rounds of qualifying ( and fairly unprecedented ? )

We knew we had players entering qualifying in form just at the right time leading to optimism and so far that optimism has been well founded.

Of course, the real biggee is QR3 and making the main draw. 2/4 ( and 2/5 from the start ) would be not bad at all, indeed pretty good really, 3/4 tremendous, and we can really dream of 4 !!
