Aimee seems to still be playing (although not on livescores).
Lost the first set 1-6 and 0-2 down in the second and moving along rather fast, though, so maybe for not much longer. (Not surprising, however, given she's playing Indy ! )
So Nicholls beat Aimee to qualify, pulled out and was replaced by her?
Yes. It seems so. And seems weird that Olivia would not even give the match a go (does she still get her ranking point for qualifying?). Although, if she's injured, then there's no real point of just turning up, of course.

I'm not convinced they have any indoor courts on site. They do have lights on the courts so can play on quite late whilst it's stopped raining.
I don't know the club at all, but I assumed most big clubs had some indoor facilities.
Meanwhile Katy leads 6-3 5-4*
It's mainly a golf club with some tennis courts round the back. I've watched both the Open and the Ashes in the cafe there during some long rain delays in previous years and there was never any suggestion of moving indoors.

Strange.
On the positive side I assume Aimee gets a ranking point for competing in R1, i.e. the point that everyone, including WCs, generally gets for competing in R1 of a 25K, not the additional point that qualifiers would get if they won their R1 match.
If so, that will preserve Aimee's ranking as she will now retain at least 3 counters ( into next year indeed ). She had been due to go down to 2 counters after the US Open.
PS : I'm not sure if Olivia gets a point, CD. I am guessing, perhaps ironically, no.

I went to watch there about three years ago and I don't think there were any indoor courts. It is primarily like an American country club rather than a tennis club - golf course, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, adventure playground, indoor play area, spa. The sort of place where the whole family could happily spend the day. The tennis courts were a small part of it.
