Didn't see any of it and just latterly followed live scores, so be great to hear more about it.
I see he took 5/6 BPs, though with DFs from Simon on at least 2 of these, and Simon took 5/10 BPs, two he missed being MPs when Aljaz was *3-5 15-40 in the final set.
Headline is "Aljaz Bedene shocks Gael Monfils in Winston-Salem Open". Bet that was a shock for Gael...
Superb ( I am past being shocked / horrified by some of the stuff that eminates from BBC Sport ) although in truth I probably shouldn't laugh, and this follows I thought a worse than ever performance by their commentary teams at Wimbledon with regards to facts / fiction ( research ? - that's old hat ). Not that this online offering is really research, it's just ... it's too late to find a word that does it justice ..
The headline and accompanying bumph regarding Aljaz's defeat of the WR 16, Gael Monfils, sort of makes the caption accompanying the picture of Aljaz pale into insignificance : "Aljaz Bedene secured a straight set victory over Italy's Marco Cecchinato in the second ( sic ) round".

From what I saw, Bedene's game has upped a notch, notably serve, forehand, very positive in his overall approach. I'm not sure how hard Simon was trying though. Was he getting paid appearance money?
