I'm guessing the LTA are looking at scheduling for next year and hopefully it will not be the mess it was on the Women's side this year.
The men's side was pretty well represented as we had a lot of players knocking on the doors of challengers and plenty of challengers were put on. I see no reason to change it.
Aljaz and Kyle may well be playing main tour, but James, Brydan, Liam, Ed, Dan E, Dan C, Milts, Marcus, Smethy and Alex W may well appreciate home challengers again.
As for the 10ks/15k - the likes of Gabb, Bambridge, Rice, Farquharson, Glasspool, JWH, Marzi, Toby, Salisbury and Pauffley should have no issues getting into a main draw for a 15k
The women has been a mess internationally and domestically. Events have been unevenly spread internationally and a lack of domestic tournaments suitable for the girls
Hopefully the new plans in place will resolve the spread of 25K upwards more evenly, so that there are several in Europe in the same week, so that the tournaments aren't so loaded.
Domestically you have to look at the requirements of the players:
Forget Heather, Laura, Joko and possibly Naomi as they will be playing WTA tour or 100K challengers
So you are left with:
Amanda Carreras - unlikely to come over unless on clay
Katy, Harriet, Emily, Naomi C - all probably need 15K's ( I understand they are going....)
Tara and Katie B - rankings are going to drop substantially and will need 10Ks to start with
Sam and Jade - may or may not make a comeback, but they will need 10K's to start with
Katie Swan - will need 25K+, but I've no idea if she plans to step up or keep playing juniors
The rest are all in effect 10K players
So the LTA should be trying to build the base of 10K players and see who pushes on
Realistically they should put on three consecutive weeks of tournaments 2x10K and 1x25K, three or four times a year, with the grass court season in between. (end Jan, March, August and October)
One more plea to the LTA - please can you use a few more facilities in the North, particularly NW. We only had Wirral and Didsbury last year in the NW. (previously Preston, Manchester Sportcity, Wrexham)
