Yes, I'm with you on this, philwrig. One team really needed this much more than the other.

Good to see Ms W-S and Ms Hibino playing together again ... but that is indeed a horrendous draw.

Yes, although they've once again not brilliantly timed their ranking rises and falls with Slam entry date, at joint WR 83 they're better than for the French Open ( then joint WR 94 and ultimately just missed out after a late drive to Paris ) and hopefully that will suffice.

Currently at her doubles CH of WR 143 on 457 points, so far reaching the QF here will increase Emily's points by 10, with 25 replacing her 11th counter ( lowest for doubles ) of 15. So may already push up her CH just a few places.

She also has very little at all to defend for the rest of the year - 43 points ( net 13 ).

Hard to predict Laura's match - will just be a case of who is less rusty as both players are playing their first match back after a short injury break following a much longer injury break.

Hopefully JoKo can pick up where she left off a few weeks ago in Granby.

Really struggling on serve, 1st serve winning % only 50, and eventhough she's been competitive in every game it's 1-5.

1st set lost 6-2, I'd guess that the 2nd will be a little bit tighter, but it would take a brave person to forecast a comeback win.
