Really impressive all week Beat good players in every round, including two recently in the top 20. In the tight matches, found a way to prevail. Singles & doubles, just wonderful!
The new official rankings are already out, and as anticipated, it's good news
Heartiest congratulations to Johanna, and here's hoping this weeks qualies go as smoothly. Can we hold them in Vancouver, please?
Great win to top off a string of consistent performances that augers well for qualifying, i can't think of anywhere better to prepare for the U.S. open qualies than Vancouver, shame it's not on the East coast!
The four HR flight and time difference back east used to really screw me up (still does) but I suppose for a pro tennis player there is plenty of flexibility around how you rest and prepare on arrival in New York, it's not like there is a meeting or conference you have to get Toby 07:00 am
Fingers crossed for next week, nice to have Jo in qualies in good form with a realistic chance of progressing
Can't believe this is the same Jo who, until fairly recently, spent most of her time on court looking like a rabbit in the headlights. Tense, anxious and crumbling before she could cross the finish line. I know she was a confident player when she first came to our notice, so what happened to put her out of sorts and what has turned the clock back? Coaching? Leaving NTC? Being based abroad? Training with different people? Whatever, let's hope this latest version of Jo is with us for a while!
Her run on the grass was such a joy to watch - confident, aggressive but with a game plan. She looked the real deal and now she's backing it up. Another 6 wins at least in NYC now please!
Another brilliant week for Jo - and she has kept up a high performance level for long enough now to feel like there has been a step change in her performances. Not only has she won 10 in a row, she has a 36-16 record for the season. It would be great if she can take this form into the US Open (and get better luck with the draw than Wimbledon) where the rewards are much higher.
Really pleased for Jo. I hope she can take it positively into qualies this week. They're not on LS for today (The men's are), so I'm hoping that she'll have lots of travel/prep time.

Yes, indeed. That's my feeling, too - it's lovely to see Ms Konta doing so well so consistently. It feels as though she truly belongs at or above current ranking. Well done to her!

Think I'd agree with this - certainly in so far as keeping up performance levels over a reasonable length of time rather than the odd good match/tournament here and there. Didn't read too much into her victory at Granby as I felt the field there was bit weak in comparison to this but you can't do much more than win the tournament - so yes well done. I would have thought she would qualify for the US open main draw given current form but then again I thought the same about Chung and Zverev qualifying for the French Open.
