RE: Week 33 - Challenger ($100,000) - Vancouver - Hard

Dan in total control 5-0.  He is playing great, Brydan's level has dropped.

Exceptional third set from Evans. 5-0 in the third means it's all over, right? wink

Well played Mr Evans. Feared for him after missing out in the 2nd. 3rd set Evo was as good as Brydan was bad to be fair. Cracking win though for Dan. Should have gone to Sharm though right!?!

Well done Dan.

I meant to catch a heck of a lot more of the final set, but it somehow became 5-0 when I wasn't concentrating.

I still think at his current ranking with so few counters these challengers are a mistake talking about 6 wins to match points for a 15k title and 4 wins to make even a dent in his ranking. Alex ward is getting his ranking back by adopting a decent tournament selection, I just think It should be more gradual. 3 or 4 more 10-15ks then challengers.

Good luck though I fear he will need it and admire his ambition with it.

Well that's 6 wins and 40 points, a 7th would take that to 65, an 8th to 105. And rather more useful match play than to be encountered in Sharm.

I'm surprised ( and very pleased ) that it has gone quite so well here, but just didn't see Sharm as ever for Evo.

In parochial business Evo has already risen to GB no 9, three points behind the current GB no 8, WR 323, Josh Milton.

I haven't got him in my top 10 year end predictions. I could be wrong, very wrong. Good.

That's great - no offence meant to Brydan, but I have been wishing success to Dan for so many years. I really hope he is going to keep this up, now.

Top stuff Evo!

Now, if they only did Special Exempts for US Open qualies..

would like to think if we won the tournament he would merit a WC into US Open qualies - someone would need to remind the USTA of the WC given to Kudla at Wimbledon - he hasn't looked back since!
