I definitely thought Heather would beat Babos but her form in the US hardcourt season continues to be puzzling. Really poor in her first tournament, but that just looked like a blip after a good tun in Canada. Then losing to Babos today, despite taking full control in the second set. Hard to know what to expect next from Heather.
The other match in Heather's section is now irrelevant from her perspective, but remarkable in that Sasnovich won in 3 hours & 41 minutes. Babos will fancy her chances tomorrow.

Struggled with the curates egg metaphor which is always taken out of the global context of its original use. The egg now takes centre stage and detracts from Mr Jones humility. The whole point of what is a geriatric but punchy cartoon very relevant given the recent behaviour of young Nick.
Also Mr Nishikora could learn from John Millman in that respect, who although not in my good books for beating Kyle has a strong track record of the later there is a nice article on the ITF site dating back to 2009 where as a young man he makes a great speech after loosing to a Brit just back from injury in an ITF final.
I see a parallel with Hev (who comes across as one of UK tennis's good eggs) in his incremental improvement through his mid 20s into the top 100 (he barely scratched the worlds top 50 as a junior) and feel she can do the same but at a much higher level with the top 20 as her target over the next 3-4 years.
Admittedly another minor battle lost but in the greater scheme of things she needs to merely "keep calm and carry on" to win the war.
