Bizarre tiebreak, from 5-5 eight minibreaks in a row with SP and MPs on serve being traded back and forth.
The first set had but one break and I believe 5 aces and no DFs from Naomi, then the second set had a bit of a glut of breaks and DFs from Naomi then that tiebreak. Kinda glad in many ways we didn't have a third set.
Well, Naomi's serve has been impressive and consistent of late, but it seems that it "went" in the second set today.
But the important thing is that she is through. Now any decent coach about ?
Naomi's opponent retired in R1, and she comes through a long tie-break to win in R2 - you can tell that Naomi is on form at the moment and long may it continue!
Huge respect for Victoria Duval to some through and win her R2 match - she was one set and 4-5 down (I think) when I looked and yet came back to win in three.
Although one wants Naomi to win, I don't think anyone will be sad if Duval wins - it's an amazing story for a young girl to have to go through and the interviews before and during this tournament have been very moving.
I do want Duval to play tomorrow against Naomi, but I would love to see Broady win this tournament - I actually think she has it in her and it's been a while since she won a 25k.
