Don't think this is about points - otherwise she'd be back in Turkey. I think this is about testing the water - whether she's ready for 15/25k events. Probably using the chance before she has to start defending points (21 by the end of year) in the autumn.

It was certainly much more about the WTA points than anything to do with Anna entering here.
Last year the WTA to my mind greatly improved their main draw points points progression by pretty much mirroring the ATP. But they just slightly tweaked their qualifying points and at many levels, more particularly high levels, they are a bit head scratching.
This is a rotten draw, but a good test. Robin Anderson was the top-ranked university player last year, and is deeply underranked. Her university record, though, shows some unexpected losses, so she's not invincible.
