I wouldn't start looking towards Millman until Mr Edmund has come past Mr Nishioka - another on-the-rise young player with some very good results. He'll be a good test.
Echoing the sentiments of other posters, I would say Kyle is just about the only GB player (bar a certain Mr Murray) who I feel very confident about taking on lower ranked players. With any of our other guys, there's a bigger doubt in the back of my mind that they might crumble
Kyle's on-court demeanor has been great at these events. He looks relaxed and at times seems to be playing in 3rd gear, almost sauntering around the court in between points (not in a ****y or arrogant way). Hopefully he can take down Nishioka and set up that match with the Milkman, which should provide a sterner measure of his ever-rising stock
Kyle has a fine H2H against Nishioka - in-fact, he usually rolls all over him. The two have risen at very similar rates up the rankings.
The head-to-head is in fact 3-0 in Kyle's favour: he beat him by 3 & 1 in the semi-final of the USA F11 Futures (clay) in 2013, by 0 & 3 in the final of the USA F2 last year (also on clay) & by 7-6(2) 6-0 in the semi-final of the Hong Kong Challenger (hard) earlier this year. The omens are good...
I'm just shocked there are now left handed Japanese players as they used to force them to play right handed years ago as being left handed was seen as bad luck.
That is definitely the best "hot shot" I've ever seen! I think it must be a favourite for televised "shot of the year". Unfortunately, there is no Shot of the Year competition. Perhaps we might start one?
