Ah well, pity, but it looked a tricky assignment where Evo is just now. I do hope it picks up for him over there, but it is likely to be real challenge
Shame there's no points for winning the first round but pleased to see the effort to head out there and try qualifying
Wonder what's up next for Mr Evans...
Jeez, life on the Challenger circuit, the phenomenal expense and wear-&-tear of a trip to CALIFORNIA - for nothing! I count my blessings of being a wage-slave ...

It sounds fantastic and indeed there is a relatively attractive run of west coast challengers over the next couple of months Vancouver, Tiburon and Sacramento. If things don't go well, and Dan has chosen a higher risk strategy than sticking to futures being a wage slave has its advantages. That in itself is a choice ; not to chase ones aspirations.
Fancied Dan's chances against Nguyen but not to be.
Agree. Re the French guy I mentioned a while back who retired at age 25, due to a loss of confidence following a nasty run of injuries / bad luck / lack of results, his only regret was not having tried Challengers more often - always chasing a few points here and there in futures, always thinking he needed those points to give him a better base, always putting challengers off till next month when his ranking was hopefully 50 places higher - and then realising that it was too late and he'd never really allowed himself a shot at making it.
Good luck Dan - as Dan's twitter account tagline says : Here for a good time, not a long time . . ..

for a third Brit in the main draw. If they make it, they'll play a pair of local WCs, Andre Dome & John Paul Fruttero (UNR because JPF is "inactive" - he last played in this very event three years ago & is currently unranked, though he has a CH of 83 from May 2012) in the first round.
