Well done Mirabelle. These are "Banana skin" type matches.

With her SF last week and so far QF this week taking her to 24 points minimum on Monday week, as said earlier, Mirabelle more likely than not will now be into the top 700.

Might as well make sure and she'll want to push on anyway.

And Mirabelle+ get a win in the doubles too and so advance to the semis.

Mirabelle was broken at *5-5 in the second set, but has broken back to force a TB.

2-6 6-6

But in the doubles, Mirabelle and partner scrape through, against the top seeds, no less, winning 6-2 3-6 12-10

Into the final .....

Some good performances this week and the doubles final as a bonus. I think this is her first ITF final - don't think it will be the last. smile

I think there is likely a part of her game that is letting her down at the moment - which could be the reason why she lacks consistency "within a match"  at the moment as you alluded to earlier Indiana. This could be the serve - which goes off (a la Naomi) or the ground strokes rhythm goes and she starts spraying balls all over.  She was 4 - 0 up in second set. So, stuff to take back for a training block to sort out.

Nonetheless another good development week for her

Yes, but my guess is that it's just as likely to have been Saray's play that was the cause i.e. Saray was winning easily, relaxed, took her eye off the ball, and then found herself 0-4 down and had to refocus and come out with her A game again. Mirabelle might possibly have been 100% consistent in her level.

I've no idea, obviously, but there's always the two of them on the court.

Your scenario is highly unlikely for one of many reasons - Mirabelle's performances against the much higher ranked players (even much higher than Saray) throughout the past several 6/7 weeks - look at them closely again. This in no way suggest someone who was lucky that Saray took her eyes off the ball and she stumbled into a 4 - 0 position. It suggests more Mirabelle finding her range - then losing it again, which is typical of aggressive play - something Indiana alluded to vis-a-vis her inconsistency "within a match".

I am going on performance statistics she has shown over the past several weeks - something is letting her down at the moment.
