I just recently woke up recalling hazily at first that I had last been viewing the scores on bet365 as Naomi missed out on 2 separate BPs at 5-5* in the final set ( no surprise at all given how dominant serve was from both, but very frustrating ). They went for a sit down, I went to sleep ! ( I was very tired )
Anyway, I came on here in a mixture of anticipation and dread and ....
So pleased Naomi won. A cracking victory. Am I right that her ranking can really only get better for the rest of the year? 48 points will come in very handy.
According to the EXCELLENT site that insomniacfolder kindly posted, Naomi only has a 10-pointer to come off in late October. Nothing else for the whole of 2015.
Her lowest counter is 8 (several of those) which obviously has to be deducted from the new points going on.
Against a good player on a fast court, I think Naomi should deploy 2 first serves rather than using her standard 2nd serve, and just try to accept a high number of dfs. Of course, high risk because Naomi often gets so down on herself during matches. But a huge number of unreturned serves is her best hope of making the match competitive.

Especially later on in his career when he said that he was getting a little slower and felt that the risk/reward calculation of 'good first serve' versus 'second serve start the rally ball' was even more clear-cut.
