DavidC thank you for your relentless efforts keeping the board updated on our juniors unstinting efforts around the world. Very exciting to see Luke having a career best week. Fingers crossed for the semi!!

I know this question gets asked time to time but what British boys should we be looking out for in regard to making an impact over the next few years? I am aware of a few girls but, has the boys side of things seems to be lagging behind a bit.....is that a fair comment???

There are less stand out boys than girls IMHO. Max Stewart and Aidan McHugh are the obvious names.

Quite a few of the older ones are going down the US college route.

There really does seem a paucity of not just top junior boys, but top senior guys in their late teens and early twenties.

Kyle, Liam, then ? Maybe Cameron ?  Luke yet ?

Really hope some juniors can push on. Still a lot of time for many of the juniors, the seniors less so, though there clearly could be late developers.

With the boys there is a lower correlation than with the girls between junior success and achievement in the Pros. So while the boys' results haven't been outstanding recently there is still the possibility, much more than in the girls, of a surprise late developer (or someone opting for a different path to the ITF Juniors Tour) like Tim Henman or James Ward to come through.

British tennis has been in cycles since I started following back in 2000. The future looks bright in boys, then it flips to girls, then back to boys.

Of course we had a bit of a golden period with Oliver, Liam and Kyle and then on the girls Laura and Heather.

I'd like to see us produce a good junior every year with a likelihood one of them will make the big breakthrough.

Storrie looks to have a good work ethic, has a grade 1 semi and some competitive matches against the top juniors. Hopefully Bass and Stewart can show some good results as well below him
