Is it just me that is a little depressed so few of our top 25 men are travelling to these events, When you think how many we have when there is a 10/15K in the UK, why aren't most of them playing when there are none on here.
If the LTA want us to have fewer tourneys on here, should be making sure there are funds for these guys to go and compete overseas.

Amanda seems to be going for the 75k in Prague - alternate at present but she should sneak into the qualies.

I suspect more have entered but are still in the alternate lists, pending the withdrawals of those with multiple entries.

Chiswick is now loaded with Brits unranked players might even make main draw. Gotta expect one of our girls to take the title there.

How many more British 10ks have they got to choose from? wink

I'll try and get the table updated after withdrawals later today, however the scheduling is strange as we have a 10K on 10th in the UK and then a blank week and then a 25K at Woking.

You would have thought they would stick another 10K in the blank week...

The LTA seem to have got the men's calendar reasonably scheduled this year, but the women's calendar is still a mess. The problem is we have lots of players either at 10K or in that range where struggling at 25k or too good for 10K.

On a happier note with the potential for an Aptos challenger win for Kyle there may be a sense of déjà vous in the way he says good bye to Challenger tennis. Any money on an ATP tour breakthrough in St Jose? Probably not but his work ethic and symmetry with Mr Murrays career makes one optimistic!

Tables now updated - only Marcus Willis missing again.

Nice to see Lisa Whybourn and Helen Parish on the entry lists. I suspect Helen may get a wildcard along with some of our better juniors - Jodie, Eden, Emily A possibly

I don't think there is a San Jose tournament any more. Finished in 2013, I believe.

Heard that Murray is also playing doubles in Montreal with Leander Paes. Lots of doubles practice this summer ... wonder why?

Chiswick updated - Whybourn, Parish and Gibson look like they will be main draw automatically. So 15 direct entries, 4 wildcards and potentially up to 8 qualifiers. There could be as few as 5 foreigners, so good chance for GB players to pick up ranking points and getting onto the ladder, which is the whole purpose of these tournaments. Shame we don't have more....

Yes, I agree. And seemingly a very well-chosen time for it. Although difficult for the LTA to know ....

The Sunderland 10k had only 3 direct GB entries, 4 wildcards and 3 qualifiers. Only one GB players even made it into the quarters (the other 7 all foreign).

I assume the LTA were pretty disappointed.

And difficult to say, conclusively, why. The youngsters turned out in reasonable numbers. A couple of better players missing. But the main difference seems to be that there was just a very large number of foreigners inscribed.

So maybe the LTA should just cram more women's events into this time of year ! While the peskies are off on hols or playing tournies in their own back yard....
