Very nice.

Especially as she'd lost to the same player only a couple of weeks ago.

should take Mirabelle to about WR 735 or so. (nothing to come off until November and still 4 zero counters in hand after this one gets added).

Getting consistent at this level now. Hopefully she can take a few further steps.

The four more counters would help her go to about 600 minimum so she'd up up seeded top 4 in some 10ks which would help in Semi and final quests.

Having beaten the 15 year old Mirabelle is now taking on the top seed -
Mirabelle 6-3 0-2*

Looks like Mirabelle got a bit lucky....

Valeria retired at 2-2 in the second set.

Into the semis . . .

(and up to about WR 710)

Ah, so that's why Mirabelle's score disappeared from bet365.

Might as well reach the final now and crack the top 700.

With her big game it is very difficult to get a feel for how high she might go. The journey could be fun though.

How is that being lucky ? You take first set 6-3, then 0 - 2 down and come back to 2-2, etc. Her record so far shows no luck in what she's been doing - rather has been unlucky.  You should rather be questioning the top seed who perhaps saw that there was no way back and denied her a clear cut victory

Whether or not any luck was involved, great to see Mirabelle through to the last 4 :)

You only play who is the other side of the net. It is not the way you wish to see a match end of course we will never know what the eventual outcome would have been if the match had continued. But it is what it is and now Mirabelle has a chance to have a good go at trying to reach the final. I for one am enjoying her steady improvement and small steps up the rankings. Hopefully with her big game and given time she can go far. Time will tell us. For now well done to her for bagging a semi spot.

It's good to see that every few tournaments she goes one round further than before. At this rate she should be winning 10Ks before the season ends and have to move on to higher ranked events.
