Amanda loses the first set 0-6 - only 9 points - more post-grass blues.

With updated rankings :

R1: Tara Moore WR 362 vs (6) Anastasiya Kamardina (RUS) WR 280 (CH 279 last week, aged 18, JCH 15 )

R1: Amanda Carreras WR 329 lost to (Q) Anastasia Grymalska (ITA) WR 453 (CH 213 05/14) 6-0 6-3

Winners meet in R2, hopefully not Anastasiya vs Anastasia.

R1: Tara MOORE (GBR) 362 lost to Anastasiya KAMARDINA (RUS) [6] 280 2-6 4-6

Seems an awfully large and barren wilderness Ms. Moore has stumbled into these past seasons.

Why is Tara playing on clay surely she should be in USA on hard courts

An interesting question. She has been playing predominantly on clay since late February (the grass court season aside). I presume this is a longer term strategy of her newish coaches, Chris Sordyl and Tony Lekic (who are also working with Tara's friend Malin Ulvefeldt according to the ITF)? Maybe it's to do with her serve, which she has been seemingly struggling with since her injury (?) - maybe she can focus on getting more in play on clay rather than trying to belt it as she would want to on a quicker surface?

And Tara and Conny win their semi, 10-6 in the MTB, and march on into the finals

Will Tara turn into an out and out doubles specialist? It seems that is the way she is heading.

I see no real indication that that is any sort of aim for now, though the teaming up with Nik Slater was interesting.

But good to get wins and court time in doubles for now while her singles relatively struggles.
