Just had a scan over twitter, and the only thing I can find, is a tweet reply by a journalist on site, who replied in French 'non pas de blessure', to an enquiry. Fingers crossed there is no injury, maybe just feeling unwell or something like that.

That's a relief. Given the score line perhaps she just felt steadily worse and decided to quit at that stage. I'm sure if she had felt anything at all with the wrist she would have stopped straight away. If that was an on site journalist who was viewing the match then he should definitely be able to confirm whether it was an injury. I'm not sure of the "trainer" set up on the challenger tour though.

A shame for Laura - early signs are it's nothing too serious but still a set back after she made some good progress last week. The way the match went it would make sense that she was unwell as it went badly from the start rather than a sudden change in momentum.

More up to date information from another journalist not so good, indicates the retirement was due to the wrist, but maybe more precautionary than anything.

Alas, if you look at the context of the tweet, he's saying "no, no injury, 0-4 still in the first set" which suggests that she hadn't yet withdrawn. Later on he noted in another tweet (to the same UK journalist who asked the question) that Robson withdrew. Do, do hope that it's not an injury.

That's dreadful news. Of all the injuries to get this wrist one is the absolute worst for a tennis player. Trying to think positively it might just be a reaction to the amount of tennis she's now playing, it could just be some pain and nothing else. If its however a recurrence of the same injury then I fear this could be the end of her career. Emotionally after being out for such a long time how do you go through all that again. I sincerely hope that I'm overdoing the worrying and that this is just a niggle and will clear up quickly.

Assuming it is the wrist, and the pain is minimal, I remember an article during Wimby which detailed a bit more why her recovery from wrist surgery had taken so long. It basically said even though the surgery was succesful, she would feel pain during the recovery process, due to scar tissue taking time to heal. I remember Andy having the same problem during his back rehabilitation process. So hopefully it just means, a short time away, and not a serious setback. I also know that Coxy still feels a bit of pain from his wrirst surgery, and he's managed to play through it for a long time.

Good point, it can also be a bit psychological for her. Even if the wrist has healed if she feels anything at all then she might think the worst. I suppose its at the back of her mind all the time.

If it does turn out to be just some scar tissue pain it might be better for her to not play doubles aswell as singles, this might be just too much at this stage.

Lol! That's great news, that shouldn't take long to sort out. Hopefully she'll be back next week.

The fact she is tweeting about it so soon is clearly good news - the whole thing reminds me of following Laura a few years ago, with a retirement followed by speculation. These sorts of niggles are really frustrating but inevitable as she gets used to playing again.
Clearly none of the journalists/fans on site knew what was happening so just had a guess

Apparently that's what the tournament office said initially, so you'd think they'd have their facts right !!, caused needless panic all over the internet.
