James as good as gone. To be fair Uchiyama has played really well in my opinion.

Really poor result for Ward, contrasted to a great one for Liam

Needs some time off rather desperately at the wrong time.

Hopefully Liam has got his mojo back after last week, but whatever he achieves in his career he will always have my respect for the sacrifices he has made in pursuit of success. To me, to be prepared to risk a family rift and end up living in a car and sleeping on friends' sofas shows a level of dedication and commitment sadly lacking in many British youngsters. I really hope he can start to put some results together and make it all worthwhile.

Happy for Liam, not always easy to deal with an opponent who appears to be part tanking.

That's the problem with tennis federations such as India's that are swimming in money. Their players have it all on a plate, so they never show any desire or intensity in matches.

Liam's opponent very poor, but take nothing away from him, professional and ruthless performance, James' opponent did play well but too many easy points for him. Disappointing.

I did think that a couple of weeks off after the Davis Cup tie might have been a good idea for James.

The way he is going ( and Kyle is going ) he might have a rest during the next Davis Cup tie, although a fair amount of water still to pass under the bridge in that regard and various things to consider.

Not a great post Wimbledon for James so far. Well done to Liam for keeping his foot hard down, I have every confidence that at 22 there is still time if he continues with his foot to the metal. Despite not tearing up challengers this year, he has looked at home at this level, often loosing close games but in the earlier rounds.

There are lots of upsides to giving Kyle a crack at the DC. We are likely to be Murray dependent again, ie I see plan A as two andy singles win and a doubles win with his brother.

It is however likely that the Aussies will be using one of Kyles contemporaries in the singles rubbers, he has played KKK and the young raging guy with the Mohican from the Beats advert who also plays tennis through juniors so although out ranked he is in fine form and would believe he'd have a good chance. Andy will also get a close look at his game this week, not that he doesn't know it already and so together with Liam able to make a really informed decision about when to through the dice and give Kyle his competitive debut.

The Beats guy don't worry I think he'll be fine get lots of publicity marry a Russian ice hockey goalie, bit of modelling and live happily ever after.

I wonder if James is struggling to get motivated for the smaller tournaments.

He's performed in front of big crowds at Wimbledon and DC, but not so good when playing challengers or the lesser ATPs.

I didn't think James played great in Davis Cup against Simon and Cannot see him getting close to Groth or Kyrgios in the Aussie tie
