RE: Week 30 - ATP 500 - bet-at-home Open - German Tennis Championships, Hamburg (clay) - doubles

It will be further CHs for Jamie & John on Monday since they will at least pass this week's early vanquished ( by Colin Fleming & Gilles Muller ) WR 18 Jack Sock.

The title would be very nice in its own right though !

Cabal and Farah may be unseeded, but they're no mugs. Should be a good final.

I'll second that, Spectator.  In fact, I'd go so far as to suggest that the Colombians only just missed out on a seeding:

SF:  (3) Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) CR 39 (20+19) "defeated" (1) Simone Bolelli & Fabio Fognini (ITA/ITA) CR 18 (11+7) by a walkover

Can't believe Bolelli went down with gastroenteritis in Germany of all places! disbelief

Final:  (3) Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) CR 39 (20+19) vs Juan Sebastián Cabal & Robert Farah (COL/COL) CR 57 (28+29)

Fantastic news! Very big win and a big title to pick up

Looks like they are finally making that big step and establishing themselves as a 'top 10 pair' for good now, excellent. Long may it continue and hopefully see them at the O2

Jamie took a heck of a long time to find a settled partner, but he does seem to have succeeded now. Well done, and I hope the success continues.

Yay, and another doubles title this week, and a pretty big one. 500 lovely points and a further new CH in style

... with bells on. Ironic after we went on a bit about the lad and his turnover in partners how well settled he now is whilst Dom, Jonny and Colin have been rather scratching around.

Jamie up to a CH of WR 18 on a nice round 4,000 points.

John is also on 4,000 points, but continues to be ahead of Jamie, because Jamie has played at least a couple of additional tournaments, including the Davis Cup with Andy where the 90 points there didn't beat their 18th counter. But currently a SF Davis Cup doubles win would get Jamie ahead of John. Sorted

They are actually now pretty close behind a group of players in the low 4,000's and defending 90, 0 and 0 at ATP Masters Canada, ATP Masters Cincinnati and the US Open respectively, so good performances over the next 6 weeks could move them up quite a few more places.
