I would have loved to see a 5th set but sadly not to be. Even though Evans lost he should take heart and if he has to play a vital 5th rubber then he certainly has a chance there.
Interesting re the selection how Leon talked there specifically about how they felt Evo would give Tomic trouble on this court.
And Evo may have lost, but I think what he has taken out of Tomic has improved Andy's chances further against Tomic ( who I assume will play rubber 4 )

Really enjoyed Dan's match. A big well done, despite the final result.
And of course the best news from today is that Andy won SO easily so should be nice and fresh for three matches (which we assume he'll be playing).
And thank you to Jamie Baker for adding some sense to the commentary box. ("Yes, Andrew, but that's why the Davis Cup captain and the Head of Men's Tennis must never, ever be the same person" - exactly, Jamie, explain it to him.......)
Not moving your feet and slapping a winner doesn't show renewed energy, Bouncy !
Sometimes I really feel that Andrew Castle doesn't understand tennis at all. There were a number of occasions today where he commented about Tomic suddenly finding energy from somewhere, or blasting a return "despite" looking tired in the last point, when all he did was stand still and swing, exactly what a tired or struggling player would do....

I think my favourite bit was how Bernie Tomic had really matured from a boy into a man and grown up this year. Didn't he spend a night in jail for scuffling with hotel staff and resisting arrest about 8 weeks ago?!
What really annoyed me was that they kept saying Dan had "gone missing" for a time resulting in his fall to 700+ in the rankings. Well, in case they haven't noticed, most people "go missing" when they are injured.
Terrific stuff from Dan. He had chances and proved again what a talent he can be.
