Everyone in the Istanbul thread was saying it was a good idea to pull out due to the short turnaround and the tough draw.
Problem is that the ATP probably recognizes that in this case Dan could not be arsed because the draw was tough but probably would have turned up if he was facing a no-hoper. File this decision in the "not doing himself any favours" bracket.
Not criticising Evo. Just saying it was pure luck though re the Davis Cup that he wasn't in Turkey.
Hopefuy it's no question of Leon foregoing any of his arch pragmatist reputation for a "it was meant to be" captain.
To be fair I jest ( I think ) since as I have said, I can personally totally understand Evo being picked ahead of James and there seemed remaining doubts about Kyle.
Not usually one to complain about the commentary but Andrew Castle trying his best to slam the Evans selection... Seems to be obsessed with Wards win against Isner and not care about his recent form
Would be great to see Dan get into this match and for Andrew to eat his own words

Indeed,. Tough to be fair / unfair (?) that is assuming that Andrew Castle has a reasonable awareness of James' form since Wimbledon let alone actually seen some of his challenger matches.
