Good luck to him, and enjoy, but if as Gary said, it's all for £200, I hope he really does enjoy it . . .

County cup doubles or 15k ITF where a good chance of semi final at least. I know what I would choose.

Thanks - I'll stop trying to find the singles results then . . .

(and, yes, I'm with you, Jaggy)

So is "blast from the past" Oli Golding playing county cup ? His tweet suggests that he may well be playing, although his tongue in cheek humour has caught out far more intelligent people than me in the past.

His tweet reads "Getting pumped up for today #countycup" with a picture of him pumping up the tyres on his car.

Still time for a comeback on the main tour Oli wink

Thing is re Marcus that many folk including myself have questioned his tournament preferences in the past, largely through our liking for GB players to be highly / higher ranked.

But Marcus works to his own agenda, with enjoyment apparently being very important to him, and that really ultimately is just for him and possibly any of his financial backers.

county week when i played is a great week to forget the pressures of playing a lone sport and help your team to try to secure promotion. Very competitive matches in a great environment with some quality doubles on display, as well as having a relaxed team atomsphere dont blame him for playing as its a chance to still work on his game but unwind at the same time!

Agree BBJ, County Week is HUGE fun.  A real team spirit which is something our players rarely get.  Usually high quality dubs, friendships formed and juniors mentored.  I can really understand so many of our lower ranked pro players booking themselves in for it.

Re Oli G, playing for Middlesex today at Cambridge way down in Div 3, partnering Luke Milligan.  Hope he is enjoying himself.
